John Maznicki

John started working for Sage Creek Equestrian in 2008. He started as a working student for barn manager Jenn Laymen. He continued his education with Jim Hicks. He has been apprenticing with Jim for two years. John is apprenticing to be a quality horseman. John now teaches the little kids horseback riding lessons at Sage Creek Equestrian.

John came to appreciate and learn about mustangs by volunteering for an event celebrating the mustang with education, poetry, music and fellowship at Sage Creek Equestrian. From that evening he knew he had found the right space to pursue and resume his journey with horses. A few years later his childhood dream came true with the ownership of his first horse, a mustang, Athena. Throughout his journey with Athena, John has shown Dressage with a domestic horse named Skip. “He has shown me so much and helped me become a more confident rider. I am very grateful to have him as a part of my life too.”
